Line Attendant, Welding – ProductionHow did you join Ålö? In a few words could you describe your main tasks in your position?
I was on an internship here for a week during my education, I studied apprentice welding. Then I had the opportunity to start working here right away, while I was still in training.
Now I work as a line attendant at the welding department where we have robotic welding. I take care of the robots and PLC which is a kind of control system. I keep the line going, which for example means working on programming and adjustment. When the lights are red on our welding line, I have to go into the robot cells and check what's wrong. It is often also possible to see what the problem is on the screen outside the robot cells. Once I've seen the problem, I must solve it with the robot.
What type of background and personality is needed for this job?
To work with what I am doing, it is good to have robot training and knowing PLC, PLC training is quite a long education, but you have to know it.
You should like challenges to like this job and you should be calm, if you are stressed in this job, it can easily go wrong.
