Design Engineer Mechatronics – Research & Development"I get to try our products we work so hard for during all stages and see them come to life"
How did you join Ålö? In a few words could you describe your main tasks in your position?
I first joined Ålö in 2018 as a consultant but in May 2021 I became an employee here. My work includes a lot of varying tasks. I am mainly in charge of testing many of our control system components, such as electronic control units, joysticks, display units etc. Testing our components ranges from lower-level electric stimulation and simulation testing to real world testing out in a tractor. But I also have other tasks such as software programming and developing and managing different test systems.
What type of background is needed for your job?
An engineering background is definitely a good thing. More specifically, having experience working with both software and hardware. But also, it’s important to not be too afraid of trying new things and learning.
What’s the best thing about working at Ålö?
The best thing for me is I get to come in contact with and work in many parts of designing, developing and producing a product. I am not just stuck behind a computer screen all the time; I get to try our products we work so hard for during all stages and see them come to life. And since our office is a bit out of town, I have a beautiful country road for cycling to and from work during the warmer parts of the year!
Can you describe Ålö with three words?
Challenging, varying and innovating
